General Objective

To know the perspectives and opportunities that science education brings to the development of people, culture, democracy and sustainable development of nations.

 

Specific objectives

  • Analyze the social and environmental challenges of the XXI Century and how science, scientific skills and attitudes should be central elements of culture and capabilities of the new citizens to face these more complex and critical challenges.

  • Analyze how: confidence in the individual capabilities to learn, to understand and solve problems, helps to build an identity and influence culture, in a way that promotes intelligent and responsible citizen participation in the local and in the global frameworks.
  • Invite distinguished women and men to a full debate, inclusive and tolerant, in order to elaborate recommendations to create public policy that favors the inclusion of science as part of the World’s cultures and scientific education as a key element of the education of the new citizen of the XXI Century.
  •  To publish, at the end of the Congress, a declaration that serves as a platform and international reference for initiatives to consolidate local, national and international action.
